I feel that this wedding was a very fortuitous event, not just for the love that came together of these two beautiful beings and the gathering of their wonderful families, but that I was there to shoot it! I have always avoided weddings, there just seemed to be too many cliches and the ‘it’s where all the money is’ comments was deeply off putting. Though as I say this was ‘fortuitous’! I had spent 2 months in bed sick and was really questioning what my next step was when again i was handed the old ‘you should do weddings’, but before I could retort the family member who was advising suggested I look at the work of a friend of his. I clicked on the site of Luke Going Photography and my entire opinion of weddings changed, I saw images that actually conveyed the true emotion of what this day is about, and excuse the cheese here but it was ‘love’. And i like love. Actually i love, love. And I wanted in. Now as I’m looking at this website, I see a facebook message come in from Sandy, and you all know what he was asking!!!
Now it wasn’t a yellow brick road to get to this wedding but when things like this happen you walk towards the light not away from it. I was super nervous shooting this day, but I held that feeling of love the entire time, I even bloody cried during the ceremony. So I think I’ve been changed for good and I’m hoping that in the future I can participate more in this ultimate drug. Oh and bizarrely I’m shooting a wedding with Luke Going this Saturday! Not that bizarre really. Follow the light.
Yes the above seems a bit wrong as I should be writing about Sandy and Lucy but thats what the below is for. Enjoy!
