Humility for me is the most attractive human attribute, and this beautiful couple reflect this in all their actions. I was unsure if i was going to have the opportunity to shoot their wedding, as we had to convince them to invite friends, they not wanting to put anyone out asking them to fly to Japan!!!
Fortunately they finally realized that sharing in their love is a gift for any person let alone their close friends, unfortunately the timing for most didn’t enable them to join on this day. So these images are as much for May and Tyler as they are for their friends who weren’t able to be there. For me the day was about documenting, no set ups, just allowing the day to flow as if i wasn’t there. So please excuse the amount of photos, but for the people who love this couple, I know you will appreciate it.
Oh you want some background? Sorry, yeah ok. Both grew up in small coastal villages. Tyler in Cornwall, UK and Mayuko in where the wedding was held, Wakayama, Japan. Met on Mt Maunganui, NZ nine years ago. I met them in home town of Noosa. Wedding was held in 1000 year old temple which is 5 minute walk from the families hotel, which sits beside the harbour and was the perfect venue for the reception. Now they reside in the hills of Cooroy and plan to live happily ever after. Was that ok?
