I love the freedom that our modern day weddings afford, but I also value culture, where traditions from ancient times are brought into the present.

Flying to South Korea I was pretty excited and a little nervous about capturing Aaron and Yang’s day. A language barrier that wasn’t going to be solved with my arrival 6 hours before the wedding, and a Ceremony that I’m sure Aaron was probably equally unsure about. So accepting things were out of my control, my only choice was to flow with the stream rather than direct it.

Without being there, I can only hope that the photos interpret the time and energy that Yang and her family put into the multiple ceremonies and the catering for close to 900 people (yes you read that correctly!). We can never underestimate the value of tradition and it’s place in not just honouring the couple but bringing community together to celebrate true love.
